Our senior dancers perform Vogue at our 2023 show - Dance Through the Decades

  

FINAL DETAILS FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS LEADING UP TO AND INCLUDING THE SHOW

PLEASE READ WITH CARE

The Show is very nearly upon us so outlined in this letter are all the details you need to know.

DRESS REHEARSAL AT DANCING

This will be taking place on Saturday 5TH July. Please arrive by 10.15am at the latest as we have a little surprise for our dancers which we will be revealing at 10.30am. The rehearsal will start at 11.00am prompt. The bottom room will be available for us to use as a changing room for beginners/Juniors and the younger Intermediates, the back room will be available for the boys to use and the senior and older Intermediates can use the stage area. This is a rehearsal to make sure that we can assess how much time we have between numbers. As usual we will start with the finale as this enables you to leave once your child has completed all his/her numbers. If any queries pop up on the day please leave me a note/drop me an email and I will contact you later in the day once the rehearsal has finished. A copy of the running order is attached for your information.

Please do not just drop and run – you will need to be responsible for your child to make sure he/she is in the correct outfit and ready on time for each number. Our teachers will be too busy running the show to supervise and it is unfair to place the burden on other parents unless you make arrangements.

Beginners and Juniors – A high bun – no parting.

Intermediates and Seniors – A low bun – with parting

Boys

Neat and Tidy

MAKE UP 

Beginners ballet and tap class do not need to wear make- up if you do not wish them to. Everyone else should have a foundation base, blue eye shadow, mascara, blusher and red lipstick. False eyelashes can be worn from Intermediate upwards.

As we are working with the bare minimum of chaperones, hair and make up must be done before your children arrive – I will be posting tutorials for both styles of bun and make up on our parents and pupils facebook page by the end of the week.

SATURDAY 12TH JULY

We have access to the building from 9.30am. We will be doing a full run through  of the Show in order starting at 11.00am and intend to be finished by 2pm at the latest. Please arrive with hair and makeup done by 10.15am at the latest. You must sign your child in at the registration desk where a registered chaperone will be waiting to escort them to their assigned dressing rooms. Your child will then be brought back to the registration desk at the end of the rehearsal to be collected and signed out.

Costume, Hair and Make -up is required for this rehearsal as we have BIG IMAGE PHOTOGRAPHY in attendance. Photos taken will be ready for you to view and buy before the Saturday Evening performance. If you would like individual or family photos please let me know by email by 5th July so I can make sure they are taken.

The show starts at 7.00pm prompt. Please can everyone arrive by 6.15pm at the latest. You must sign your child in at the registration desk where a registered chaperone will then take him/her to their dressing room. Your child will then be brought back to the registration desk at the end of the show to be collected and signed out. 

SUNDAY 13TH JULY

The show starts at 2.00pm prompt. Please can everyone arrive by 1.15pm at the latest. Again, you must sign your child in at the registration desk where a registered chaperone will then take him/her to their dressing room. Your child will then be brought back to the registration desk at the end of the show to be collected and signed out. 

CAR PARK ATTENDANTS

We need 2 car park attendants to assist with the parking of cars. There is a very small car park at the theatre, once it is full it is on street parking. Please be aware that we are in the middle of a residential area and park accordingly. It is highly unlikely that you will be able to park in the car park during the performances as we will be prioritising blue badge holders, staff and the backstage and front of house helpers. If you can help please let me know.
